Intro to Timelines (part 3)
The Timeline feature is not just for animation and camera cutscenes, it is also able to toggle the activation of game objects. If an game object needs to be deactivated during an animation action sequence, the Timeline can precisely control that.
Adding Game Objects to the Timeline
In the timeline window, right click and select “Activation Track”. This would add an track on the timeline which accepts game objects as an item. Either drag and drop the desired game object into the slot or select from the list. In this scenario, Since I wanted the card game object to disappear when the player’s hand reaches for it, I will have the clip stop at that precise moment.
This is a great feature for presenting logic within cutscenes. In the example above, it really looks like the hand has grab and taken the keycard.
